President & Chief Operating Office
Kevin Whyte joined FutureVault in April 2017 and in October of 2017 assumed the role of President and Chief Operating Officer. He leads a growing team of professionals in the areas of Technology, Marketing, Product, Finance, and Human Resources. Kevin has over 35 years of progressive responsibility in the financial services and pension industry, focused on corporate functions, information technology, and operational delivery.
Prior to joining FutureVault, Kevin held the positions of Chief Operating Officer at OPSEU Pension Trust (OPTrust), CIO and then Senior Vice-President of Wealth Operations & Technology at TD Bank, before that as Vice-President and Managing Director of Information Technology at Royal Bank (RBC) Investments (and RBC Dominion Securities), and spent 16 years in various operations and IT roles at Richardson Greenshields.
Kevin has extensive experience and knowledge of the Wealth Management, Pension, and Financial Services industry and a proven track record in aligning operations & technology planning, direction, and delivery with business strategies through strong working relationships throughout the organization. Career achievements include implementing the #1 Full Service Brokerage platform in Canada, a number of Integrated Order Management and Portfolio Management systems, the first launch of client quarterly portfolio performance statements in the industry, ‘Y2K’ readiness and execution, provided leadership through 9/11 and East-Coast Blackout, delivery of the highest rated online discount brokerage platform in Canada, and the launch of an industry award winning Mutual Fund Trading & Advisor Online System, are just a few of the highlights in Kevin’s career.
Originally from Montreal, Quebec, Kevin graduated from Concordia University with a Bachelor of Commerce. He is an active supporter in his community with several charitable organizations. Kevin’s participation in the Down syndrome community has been inspired by his son Kyle, which led to his committed involvement in the support of individuals with disabilities. He served as board member & President of the HDSA (Halton Down Syndrome Association) in his hometown for 10 years and served for 10 years as a Board member & Chair of the Board of the Canadian Down Syndrome Society (CDSS).
Kevin was a member of the Diversity Leadership Council at TD Bank with a mandate to embed diversity in business plans and drive enterprise-wide diversity initiatives. He has also been active in fund raising and support for Juvenile Diabetes, Special Olympics, Muscular Dystrophy, and The March of Dimes. Kevin is also a major contributor and supporter of the United Way including many years as a member of the Cabinet for the United Way of Greater Toronto – Major Giving campaign, and was an Executive member and Chair of United Way annual campaigns at both RBC and TD.
Kevin lives in Oakville, ON with his wife Diane and has three children – Kyle, Lauren, and Mackenzie. Kevin enjoys spending time at his cottage with family and friends, has a huge passion for music, and loves to travel. Kevin has also developed a love for the game of golf which he hopes one day he will play well!
